Policy for Association, version 3 (v3): Changes introduced in the system

The Policy for Association (PfA) is an expression of the values shared by individuals and organisations associated with FSC. The updated PfA version 3 (V3), approved by the FSC International Board of Directors, will become effective from 1 January 2023.

Among some of the changes are:

• The policy will be applied to not only forestry but also to forest product sectors
• More organisations will become part of the larger FSC system through association
• FSC will be able to take action against previously undetected deforestation
• Information screening will enable FSC to detect organisations who do not share our values

This booklet provides explanations and background information on the changes that are being introduced by FSC through the updated PfA V3.
